On Sunday, May 31, the Saint Paul Choir will sing The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass, by contemporary American composer Carol Barnett, in the context of the Sunday morning liturgies. Accompanied by a bluegrass band and conducted by Saint Paul Cantor Mark Alan Filbert, the work is a delightfully successful merger of elements of traditional classical choral literature with those of bluegrass folk music.
